INDUSTRY:
Medical/Pharma industry
FOCUS:
- Managing complex power distribution across multiple buildings
- Ensuring reliable backup power for critical operations
- Implementing advanced lighting control systems
OBJECTIVE:
To provide a comprehensive electrical installation for the new facility, ensuring reliable power distribution, efficient lighting solutions, and robust backup power systems for continuous operation.
SOLUTION:
- Power distribution through 2 x 1600 kVA and 1000 kVA transformers (Schneider Electric)
- Use of encapsulated bus ducts rated at 2500 A and 1600 A (Schneider Electric)
- Installation of 43 electrical power distribution cabinets (Schneider Electric)
- 1000 kVA generator for backup power (Cummins)
- DALI driver-equipped lighting fixtures for adjustable lighting levels (Philips)
PROJECT DURATION:
16 months
THE PROJECT COMPRISED OF:
The project involves the design and execution of the electrical installations for a new production facility in Timisoara, Romania, with a total constructed area of 30,000 square meters.
It encompasses several key facilities:
- A regional distribution center
- A research and development center for scientific services
- An administrative center
- A new factory for infusion solutions
The technical and detailed design, along with the execution of the following installations, were managed by Eltrex:
- Power distribution: medium voltage (MV) and low voltage (LV) systems for all 5 buildings.
- Lighting: normal and emergency lighting systems for both interior and exterior.
- Internal distribution installations: power and socket distribution systems.
- Grounding, equipotential bonding, and lightning protection
Additional exterior installations include:
- Installation of over 50 lighting poles
- Electrical work for platforms, roads, and site utilities (e.g., drilling, reservoirs, fire pumps)
- A 1000 kVA generator to provide backup power in case of an outage
Electricity supply for the building complex is divided into three zones, each powered by medium voltage in a closed-loop system. Transformer capacities for the three zones are: 2 x 1600 kVA + 1000 kVA + 1600 kVA. Electrical distribution within buildings will be managed through 43 electrical panels, sourced from 3 main panels connected via encapsulated busbars rated at 2500 A and 1600 A.
Interior lighting systems will feature adjustable illumination levels through DALI drivers, allowing for light level adjustment based on requirements.
