Air Treatment and Odor Reduction

INDUSTRY:

Air Treatment

FOCUS:

The main challenge was integrating the new air treatment and odor reduction system with the existing automation of six extrusion lines, ensuring seamless communication and control.

OBJECTIVE:

The objective was to deliver a fully functional and integrated electrical and automation system that enhances air quality and reduces odors, improving the working environment and compliance with environmental regulations.

SOLUTION:

  • Siemens (S7 1515-2 PN PLC, G120C Frequency Inverters)
  • Schneider (Protection devices)
  • Phoenix Contact (switches, power supplies)
  • TP1900 Comfort HMI

PROJECT DURATION:

5 months

THE PROJECT COMPRISED OF:

Eltrex designed and built the entire electrical and automation system for a new air treatment and odor reduction installation at a tire manufacturing facility. The scope of work included:

Electrical Design:

MCC Electrical panel:

  • Utilized S7 1515-2 PN PLC
  • Integrated TP1900 Comfort HMI
  • Employed Siemens G120C Frequency Inverters
  • Incorporated Schneider protection devices
  • Included Phoenix Contact switches and power supplies

Block Diagram: created a comprehensive block diagram of the entire automation system

Installation Details: detailed the electrical installation including cable trays and fiber optic routes

Automation:

  • Developed PLC software
  • Configured and commissioned frequency inverters
  • Developed HMI software
  • Developed and integrated WinCC SCADA software
  • Interfaced the system with the local automation of all six extrusion lines via digital IO and Profinet
